Willie
Carter

Willie
Felix Carter is clearly a compassionate man. This 56 year old
Democratic challenger from Long Beach, California emphasizes the
importance of human rights in international policy-making. He
would maintain Welfare, Social Security and Medicare systems largely
intact and institute greater access to health care for all Americans.
He's not a pushover, however, clearly believing in the work ethic
and expecting people to be assessed on the merits of their individual
effort.
He does occasionally manage to tweak our buttons here at DH2000,
declaring himself to be "a servant of our lord, Jesus Christ"
and frequently invoking divine guidance in his platform. His belief
in his god is strong. So is his belief in commas, occasionally
leading to incomprehensible written statements, such as this one:
"I will, as your President, embrace godly values, as spelled out
in the Holy Scriptures, to insure that we stay in the path of
'Protection of Divine Authority', as referred to in our Declarations
of independence, from Great Britain. And here we thought it's
been centuries since we needed divine protection from the Brits!
A
long-time Democratic Party worker, Carter has done a good bit
of traveling, and takes much of his platform issues from feedback
garnered during his travels. This feedback, combined with his
strong religious beliefs on subjects like abortion and euthanasia,
form the cornerstone of his agenda. He does appear to be a good
listener, a quality that too few candidates have to offer and
he respects the right of individuals to hold opinions different
from his own. As a Democratic challenger however, he will certainly
be running at the rear of a large pack.
