Robert
Gottier

There's
something about this guy that makes him seem like a real plugger.
Maybe it's his identifying himself as an inventor with 60 inventions
and 0 patents to his credit. Obviously he just keeps on trying.
Unlike the candidates who brag of their days at Harvard and Yale,
Gottier states simply that he attended Junior College. Somewhere,
sometime in his 63 years.
He
is running as an Independent on a platform that emphasizes basic
needs: "Every American should be guaranteed adequate food, clothing,
shelter, a thirteen year education, some medical care, and some
dental care (not a high-paying job)." This, in his estimation,
would eliminate many other social problems: "If the voters of
the US guarantee each American adequate food, clothing, shelter,
and entertainment, there won't be any crime and there won't be
any drug use..."
He
would drastically increase taxes on the wealthy and drastically
decrease taxes for middle-income individuals. Still, changing
the tax structure is not the cornerstone of his proposal to insure
every American a decent minimum standard of living; his major
agenda is population control: Over-population causes: 1. Inflation
2. Poverty, hunger, crime 3. Starvation, terrorism 4. Wars (and
much mental illness). The economic system of, and the lack of
population control of, the US government are pushing Americans,
and forgeiners, closer to world nuclear war. No person will survive
such a war. The US government is thought to be a world leader,
but it is causing a nuclear war.
Gottier's
take on Foreign Aid also reflects this agenda when he says, "Aid
should not be given to countries that do not reduce their population."
That pretty much sums up his approach towards other countries
as he claims not to know enough about specific nations to offer
individual opinions. He would also abolish immigration for 50-100
years until world population can be significantly reduced. With
this perspective, it's no wonder that he's pro-choice as well.
This back-to-basics approach makes sense, though the need to vastly
change global demographics would require a strong hand and forceful
personality to achieve.
Gottier
seems more steady than forceful. He's the kind of guy who's a
regular at the corner pub, quietly holding forth about his vision
for a better future for all of us. Perhaps it's the inventor in
him, looking to build a better mousetrap.
