Rick Lovelien

Rick Lovelien is just an ordinary guy from Oklahoma who thinks there is something basically wrong with America today and he's asking the kind of questions that our leaders can't or won't answer.

"Why are there hungry children in the streets? Why can't people, good and decent people find suitable work? Why do are the old and disabled not getting the proper medical care that they deserve? Could this great nation have become a nation for the bureaucrats by the bureaucrats instead of for the people?"

Rick says he's neither a Republican nor a Democrat, and he doesn't claim to have all the answers, but he makes the kind of election promises we wish the Big Guys would make: "I do not promise lower taxes, I do not promise fair wages or lower interest rates. What I do promise is, if elected, I will do all that is in my power to ensure the welfare and well being of every man, woman, and child in this nation. I do not mind stepping on the toes of other politicians in order to make a better way of life for my fellow americans. I also know how important it is to put aside my own beliefs and views for the sake of the people. After all, this is your country not the government's."

Like most of the Independent, self-proclaimed candidates, his chances of recognition in the coming election are nil, but you have to give him credit for having the courage of his convictions and the courage to try.
