Bernie Palicki

Bernie Palicki bills himself as the "First Internet-based, no cost, write-in candidacy for President of the United States of America", and he asks the same question that we often wonder: "How can this be a world of free speech if it costs a fortune to be heard?" He goes on to say that, "To be President of the United States may no longer be the most desirable job in America, but it should be attainable for those who we, the people, believe in. Whether or not the dream is valid should not rely on the price of a thirty second network spot."

Palicki is a conservative independent from Alabama whose primary focus is on economics, and he believes that America's problems are rooted in "a forced imposition of atheist-socialist ideology and a forced imposition of debt upon the United States as a national household. Forced imposition of debt comes from perverse definition of 'growth' by an invisible army of socialist 'economists' and 'statisticians' in the employ of the un-elected private banking authority that controls the central banking system of the United States."

We're certainly not qualified to judge the merits of his economic theories, but right or wrong, Mr. Palicki presents an intelligent analysis of the problems as he sees them, and offers some compelling arguments for change. While we can take no position on his politics, we have nothing but admiration for his courage in hurling himself against the brick walls of the political establishment.

- RA

June 12 - Mr. Palicki sent us the following comments and an update on the progress of his campaign:

"The 'Natural Law Thesis' was and continues to be the primary driver for having a page on the web. Plan to stay on the web with my 'thesis' until I meet my Maker. It's 'Nobel Prize' material in 'economics', but I'm the only one who knows that. I will not get elected, nor will I ever receive a Nobel Prize. More important than either of such artificial accolades, when I meet my Maker, for all of the sins I have committed in my lifetime, I don't want the 'sin of omission' to be numbered among them. I am firm in the accuracy and integrity of my failure analyses and the set of four(4) 'corrective actions' required for the 21st Century, and beyond.

From March through May 2000, have been averaging roughly 6,000 hits per month. Am getting hits from Nations in Europe (including the Russian Federation), Asia, South America and South Africa.

Heavy in my priority of action is to submit a combination affidavit and letter of petition (to the registrars for elections in all States), to be put on the Ballot as an Independent.(Target for completion is mid July).

"Ballot Access" laws in the several States purposefully deny ballot access to Candidates other than those for Registered Political Partys (Republicans and Democrats). A country or Nation is not 'free' if it doesn't have 'free elections', and we don't have a system of 'free elections'. All we have from election to election is just "best of show lap-dogs from two competing kennel clubs".

Darkhorse2000 (is) probably the only site on the web doing an information service for the voting American Public, enlightening to the fact it has alternative of choice in the privacy of the voting booth - even if exercising a "choice not on the ballot" gets it thrown into the trash. (Would like to see that happen in November 2000. Could be the best thing to happen in the last 100 years. Voter turnout in the Alabama Primary last week was less than 25%. Don't want to see any Political Party able to claim a mandate to rule.)"

June 19 - Bernie Palicki offers his views on the economics behind the increasing gas prices.

September 31 - The foundations of his belief that the American political system is a republic, rather than a democracy.
