Prattas
Not
many presidential candidates would consider appearing in their
official photo wearing a plain old white t-shirt, but James Prattas
doesn't care about superficial details.
"I
personally don't care if you are a fellow Republican, Democrat,
Reform, Libertarian, Green, Socialist, Communist or whatever!
What concerns me is whether you are: FOR the United States of
America, and that you understand and know our faith in God, our
Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and our Bill of
Rights, or AGAINST these truths that we cherish and hold to be
self-evident to this day."
Prattas,
the son of Greek immigrants, is a disabled Vietnam veteran, an
artist, and a pretty sharp guy for someone who never finished
high school.
"I
am not rich, famous, nor a member of any elitist groups, clubs
or organizations. I am uneducated and ignorant compared to most
of my fellow citizens...I never graduated from Broadripple High
School in Indianapolis, Indiana, the home of Dave Letterman and
his first jokes. I did not graduate from Dominican College in
Marin county, California because the Veterans Administration canceled
my art program claiming Art has no Value in America and I owe
them money. I do not spell well nor write well and yet I will
do my best to be simple and clear..."
What
James Prattas lacks in education, he makes up for with disarming
simplicity and clarity. Here's the full text of his views on gay
and lesbian issues:
"I
have gay relatives and I understand."
If James Prattas was our next President, it would be a little
like letting the guy who runs the corner store take a shot at
running the country - but at least we could trust him to do the
job with our best interests at heart.
