Welcome
to the DarkHorse2000 Directory of Official Candidates
The
mainstream media prattles endlessly about Al, George, Bill, John
and the rest of the big name, big budget candidates. But did you
know that you can choose from more than two hundred other fearless
hopefuls who have thrown their hats in the ring and declared their
candidacy?
Who
are these unsung, underreported dreamers who have willingly forsaken
their personal lives and their privacy for a shot at that four
year lease on the White House? Our intrepid researchers have gathered
the goods on the lot of them to help you find the candidate that
best reflects your presidential ideal. Considering the field of
front runners, it's probably a good bet that a few of the lesser
candidates just might be better presidential material than the
Big Guys.
At
least you'll know there are plenty of alternatives to whichever
two lamers they give us to vote for in November.
Some
of the candidates on this list are serious, some are a bit less
than serious, and some are bona fide wackos. Which ones are which?
It's up to you to decide. After all, we're a non-partisan site
and we certainly wouldn't want to be accused of not taking someone
seriously. We
try to keep this list current, but some
of the candidates may have dropped out of the race since we last
updated the list and a few new ones may have entered at the last
minute. Consider it a list of everybody who is, was or wants to
be a candidate.
The links in red will take you to
either the results of our exclusive
questionnaire or to our fishy-eyed assessments of the
candidates - from whence you can go to their Web sites. The candidates
who haven't yet returned the questionnaire or for whom we haven't
gotten around to doing a write-up appear in blue
and the links will take you directly to the candidate's website
or, if they have no website, to a description from Project
Vote Smart.
