"We
are a faith-based
political
party built
on the foundation
of the law
of God, the
Bible, and
the documents
that made
America unique
throughout
the world,
the US Constitution
and the Bill
of Rights."
Our
Platform Puritan
Party Platform
(as of April
18, 1999)
Our party
platform is
currently
being voted
on by our
membership
and will be
revised in
the near fuure
pending the
outcome of
the vote.
Health:
The development
of a health
program that
allows for
free yearly
physicals
to all Americans
as a method
of monitoring
the health
of the nation.
With this
system many
diseases,
when caught
early, can
be cured or
their chance
of leading
to premature
death greatly
reduced.
Health
Costs:
We support
cutting healthcare
cost by working
with the American
Hospital Association
so that reasonable
fees for medical
care can be
maintained.
Education:
Support of
public education
and government
funded college
education
through a
4-year degree
program (with
some restrictions).
A high school
education
is simply
not enough
in our times.
If we are
willing to
pay for a
child's education
for 13 years
(which in
the end will
not even allow
them an interview
in the job
market), surely
we can make
the commitment
to pay for
another 4
years that
will help
them secure
a quality
career.
Preservation
of Nature:
We must live
in respectful
harmony with
nature and
the environment.
Suburban sprawl
must be managed
with a view
toward the
long term
protection
of our environment.
Although there
is a lot of
talk about
the environment,
there is little
in the way
of true protection.
Employment
Based on Ability:
Affirmative
action, which
are quotas,
or any other
unconstitutional
device which
promotes inequality
for or against
any race or
gender is
wrong and
discriminatory.
Pro-Life
& Pro-Abstinence:
Taking
a anti-abortion
stand is merely
addressing
the failure
of responsibility
after the
fact. By standing
against extramarital
sexual relationships,
the problem
itself is
eliminated.
Both parties
to an out-of-wedlock
pregnancy
will ultimately
have to answer
to God for
their transgression,
regardless
of whether
the child
is living
or not. We
are pro-life
in all aspects
of the abortion
issue.
Homosexual
Conduct and
Special Rights:
We do not
condone the
conduct or
lifestyle
of homosexuals.
Whether biological
or psychological
it is clearly
not the path
that God wishes
us to follow.
Just as you
love the sinner
and hate the
sin, so too
must a Christians
behavior be
toward the
homosexual.
Love the person
and hate the
behavior.
Harm against
a homosexual
is as sinful
as is inaction
which leads
to further
acceptance
(condoning)
of the behavior.
Special rights
devalue the
life of another.
To harm a
homosexual
should be
of no greater
or lesser
concern than
harming anyone
else and should
carry no greater
or lesser
penalty under
the law. In
addition,
a Christian
should recognize
the value
of a person
is not limited
soley to their
sexual orientation.
Violence:
We believe
that crime
is a symptom
of neglect
and disrespect
for others.
Everything
possible should
be done as
soon as possible,
from an early
age, to instill
values into
our nations
youth. Adults
are the role
models for
today's youth
and therefore
carry the
greatest responsibility
for displaying
appropriate
behavior at
all times.
Decriminalization
of Drugs:
We stand against
the decriminalization
of drugs on
moral grounds
and common
sense. We
need to change
the behavior,
not the laws.
Although many
people do
not obey speed
limits, the
idea of eliminating
them would
seem senseless
to many, even
though the
argument could
be made that
they are difficult
to enforce
and are considered
ineffective.
The fact that
the law exists
moves many
to obey the
law anyway.
National
Debt:
As a nation
we must remain
fiscally responsible.
We must maintain
balanced budgets
and reduce
the national
debt as quickly
as possible.
Personal
Income Tax:
The federal
income tax
was established
in 1913. It
actually required
an amendment
to the United
States Constitution
to make it
legal. Why?
Our Founding
Fathers believed
that taxing
individuals
on their private
income was
economic folly.
They were
right.The
Party views
taxation of
personal income
as unconstitutional.
It should
be replaced
with a National
Sales Tax
which is fairest
of all options.
Gun
Control:
We support
the right
of citizens
to use arms
as a method
of self-defense
when (and
only when)
a life is
in danger.
Capital
Punishment:
We support
the options
that the law
provides for
in the crime
of murder
in any degree.
We do not
say that we
are for or
against capital
punishment.
We do respect
the right
of a state
to choose
their method
of punishment
for the crime
of murder.
If capital
punishment
is decided
upon in a
just and fair
manner we
don't go against
that since
a murderers
actions are
premeditated
and God does
allow for
us to suffer
the consequences
of our actions.
Israel
and Palestine:
We believe
that both
Israel and
Palestine
should live
up to and
fulfill the
Oslo peace
accord. We
believe that
both Israel
and Palestine
have the right
to exist,
have the right
to self-government,
and the right
to be represented
in the United
Nations. We
believe that
Jerusalem
needs to not
only be recognized
as the Capital
of Palestine,
but great
care and responsibility
needs to be
taken in understanding
its position
as a "world
city" of many
faiths.
Social
Security:
We support
continuing
our current
commitment
to recipients
of Social
Security.
However, we
support the
government
regulated
privatization
of future
Social Security.
