POSITION
ON THE ISSUES
ABORTION:
Candidate
Petry recognizes parental responsibility for minors, however, once
a minor has children, she (and he, where he admits and marries her)
must be considered an adult, and given voter-rights as head(s)-of-household.
GUN
CONTROL:
Candidate
Petry trusts the writers of our Constitution intended a regular
logistic record-keeping militia: Candidate Petry supports proper
firearm registrations based on the USA Constitutional need for a
regular militia. Candidate Petry also suggests the local 24-hour
armourizing (and access logging) of extra weapons owned privately,
that these may be readily available to their owners, but safely
secured in the residential community.
DRUGS:
Candidate
Petry does not find drugs a necessity in civilian life, that the
extremes where doctors prescribe have been majoritively due the
lack of control over intoxicants, often ignored by those same private-service
doctors, and the drug industry therefor incapable of controlling
itself and its market properly: the drug community, basically whether
for health or excitement, is an in-sane issue, and needs greater
specific controls: contrary to the popularity that drugs facilitate,
the general effect of drugs has been nilpotent avoidances of responsibilities
we can as a nation accomplish: whence the need to control both relegation
and application. [see also health care]
MILITARY
SPENDING:
Candidate
Petry sees basically the need to maintain defense spending, and
advance the state of the art: Candidate Petry has specifically proposed
his "GUMWAD Armada" Guided-Un-Manned carriers supporting Wide-Area-Deployment
of "Hyper-RIFT" Hypersonic Remotely-Intelligent-Force-Terminals,
as necessary to the future of air-superiority: America must make
this now, or disappear from international skies. Also Candidate
Petry proposes upgrading commercial, large-body aircraft to secure
digital-flight-path data-up-loading from the ATC's, to maintain
control of planes and flight-lanes, both for the air-crowds to come,
and the air-terrors to be abated and ameliorated. [see also Foreign
Policy]
ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION:
Candidate
Petry foresees the curtailment of energy-by-burning, especially
in the next decade or two as the Chinese come up economically: Interim
solutions include synthesized fuel-air production systems regulation(s),
ensuring improved atmospheric conditions as the commuter and construction
industries increase their energy loading factor. [see also foreign
policy]
EDUCATION:
Candidate
Petry feels money is best spent by maximal efficiency imposition:
improving the internet to an educational perspective. [eg. browsers
that auto-cite references to help students make proper bibliographically
linked, and modern cross-linked, documents; and pre-cache rather
than post-cache to facilitate research without fresh windows interfering
sporadically]
Candidate
Petry also promotes funding university enclaves consisting of twin
40-story buildings set on an acre or less within city cores, typically
amid run-down ghetto-esque blocks, can revive the community and
city within, without infringing on housing developments and long-term
residents. [see also tax policy]
SUPPORT
FOR THE ARTS:
Candidate
Petry is declared neutral on federal support for the arts: mathematics,
science, education, computation, the mental arts take precedence
in our public schools, to mere substance-artistry.
IMMIGRATION:
Candidate
Petry feels that modern society must keep the Constitutional provision
for free Persons in modern methods: the present requirements and
restrictions on immigration are not overall in need of revision.
Our first requirement is to see that the world benefits from our
democratic prosperity. [see also Foreign Policy; Trade]

INTERNET
REGULATION:
Candidate
Petry understands that the internet web developed from USArmy surplus
ARPANet, and is therefor inadequate for public use, and needs replacement
more than simple review: secure server-to-server APOP e-mail, simpler
HTML language more integrated with javascript, Lynx text browser
upgrade to https-secure, compatibility with object javascript, Lynx
pseudo-Windows tasking, etc. are a few of the present necessities.
Candidate
Petry has proposed the paying of all taxes by the internet, thereby
preventing the internet itself from being taxed: Candidate Petry
proposes sales-use tax be paid four-way: the seller, the buyer,
the FOB warehouser, and the shipping destination, all four share
equal value in the transactioned object, and therefore their four
States should receive equal shares of tax: the internet distributed
computing makes this facile: it could not have been done before.
The finish on this is that the persons, or objects may have reduced
tangible foot-print, and should pay less tax for this: the seller
may be an intermediary wholeseller, who pays smaller intermediary
tax; the object may be digitally instantly reproducible from one
master-copy and the reproduction-media may be transaction-relatively
cheap, and the warehouser should pay smaller master-houser tax.

ELECTION
REFORM: To properly implement the Constitutional provision for all
persons to vote, Candidate Petry demands we must have 1) face-pictures
of each Candidate on the ballot - this has been possible by government
artist sketch (eg. the coin face artists) since the beginning of
this nation two centuries ago - today we can do color print/xerography;
2) we must have audio balloting for Persons who do not write, or
do not read: this has been possible in recent decades; 3) We must
restore the proper sufficiency of Representatives in the House:
about 540 for this next Election; and 4) We must change the Senate
to 8 year terms, and move them off the Presidential Election.
