Another New Feature on The Angle: Soul Surfing

Los Altos, CA - March 17, 1997

In a stunning coup that has rocked the world of cyber-journalism, The Angle (www.theangle.com), the Internet's coolest personalized online Web Guide, has secured the exclusive services of Zorba the Geek, the world's first (and only) cyber-channeler.

Mr. Geek, former Unix programmer and lifeless dweeb, was rocketed to international fame when a near-fatal computer accident scrambled his synapses and put a new twist on his helix, opening a channel to what he refers to as "the timeless hyperdimension of cosmic consciousness where the spirits of the departed dwell as meta-fields of pure energy". He discovered that spirits have the ability to interface directly with cyberspace and traverse the Internet "at speeds that make a T1 look like my first 300 baud Commodore modem".

Spirits on the Internet? Ghosts in the Machine? "Yes", he explains, "they've got a lot of free time beyond the pale. Cruising the Web gives them something to do until it's time for reincarnation".

And The Angle has given Zorba something to do with his extraordinary talents. Each week he'll contact the spirits of famous dead people (or dead famous people, as the case may be), and ask them about their favorite Web sites. Now you can follow in the metaphysical footsteps of Marilyn Monroe, Sigmund Freud, Attila the Hun and a host of others as you visit the Web sites they think are out of this world.

DISCLAIMER

The guys in suits told us we had to write this disclaimer in case some bonehead takes us seriously and accuses us of demonic journalism, or worse, tries start yet another cult of New Age Cyber-Spiritualism.

It's a joke, OK? Our clever editors make the whole thing up. But it's a lot of fun and it's a great way to discover new sites, It's also a chance to learn some fascinating things about the people and events that have made an impact on our popular culture (that means it's educational, but don't tell the kids...)

Come on over to The Angle at www.theangle.com and check out Soul Surfing, our tongue-in-cheek take on celebrity fascination with a very California twist. And while you're there, give The Angle's smart technology a whirl and see what it can do to make your surfing easier, faster and more fun than ever before.

BTW - Did we mention that The Angle is FREE?
